Tasty new packaging

Time for another bumper selection of this weeks most interesting packaging.

Mindy’s Hot Chocolate

This retro packaging for Mindy’s Hot Chocolate in Chicago is retro cool. But I can’t help thinking that it reminds of the Sultry Sally packaging that launched in Australia a while ago. Designed by Kyle Tezak.

Saint & Sinner Wines Australia

This seductive new packaging for Australian wine label Saint & Sinner was created by Boldinc. The wines and their labels were designed to illustrate a woman’s tantilising qualities and how that then related to the wine variants. Five deliciously seductive drops were sourced by S&S from the depths of Australian vineyards; Syrah, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and a Sauvignon Blanc.

Each wine comes complete with phone number so the consumer can text for insightful information, cheeky pictures or dangerous specials for purchasing wine in the future.  The naughty interaction between brand and consumer is fun but has a serious side that keeps the brand fresh, drives loyalty and sales.

Liquor Beirao Premium

Beirão liquor is one of the most popular and traditional brands in Portugal. Everyone, from the businessman from Lisbon to the countryside farmer knows and drink this liquor. This design comes from NTGJ Design who proposed launching a limited edition of 1,000 units, creating premium version which would assert itself as an excellent collector’s item or a great gift.

Little Creatures Pipsqueak

A well deserved facelift for Australian cider brand Little Creatures. Now one of Australia’s most successful craft breweries, Little Creatures have ditched the weightlifter and introduced a vintage pushbike and apple tree. Created by brainCELLS.

Howling monkey

Finally some interesting new packaging from Turner Duckworth for Howling Monkey. Not much is known about this, even the Howling Monkey website is pretty cryptic.

The ladies on the Hot Chocolate labels are actually taken from Elvgren paintings. You can find more of Elvgren’s sexy ladies here: http://www.gilelvgren.com

Jo… Awesome stuff. Straight into the bookmarks.

Love that style of illustration. Someone else that i think does it really well is Virgin. They stick pin-ups on the side of all their aircraft, and even the new Virgin Galactic spaceships will have a pin-up girl that was drawn using reference from Richard Branson’s own mother…
