Brendan McKnight appointed as new managing editor of Desktop.

Niche Media is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendan McKnight as managing editor for its leading design title, Desktop. 

Brendan has spent the past seven months as online editor and features writer for Desktop, and prior to this was based in Europe for four years where he worked as a trends researcher for several international multidisciplinary design studios including FITCH and Nokia Design. Brendan has also written and researched for numerous publications including Dazed, Vanity Fair and was a regular contributor to The Cool Hunter.

The Desktop editorial assistant and online role has been filled by Alison Copley, a regular Desktop writer who joins the team from Marketing magazine – another Niche Media title.

After four years as editor, and six years in total at Desktop, Jo Spurling is stepping down from her current role as managing editor and moving on to new adventures in the digital marketing, creative and social media sector. She will be taking on her role as digital project manager at digital agency, The Junction from the 20 September 2010.

Please join us in celebrating Jo Spurling’s commitment to Desktop over the past six years, as well as the handover to Brendan McKnight at the CREATE:Awards -  this Friday (17 September), which is also Jo’s last day at Niche Media.
