The man who hacked into the Twitter accounts of US President Barack Obama and other celebrities could be facing jail, according to French police.

After several months of hacking into numerous accounts by simply guessing user’s passwords via password reminder questions, the 25-year-old was arrested and ordered to appear at court in the central French city of Clermont-Ferrand on 24 June.

In France, hacking into a database is a crime which can carry a two-year jail term.
