St John Ambulance Australia has just launched a First Aid iPhone app, and it’s applications like these that truly show the potential and worth of these handy tools. Sure, there are hundreds of thousands of great, creative and fun apps out there, but when one could potentially save a life, that’s pretty awesome.
The First Aid iPhone app includes easy step-by-step details along with large clear images detailing how to respond to 13 of the most common and critical conditions that require immediate life saving First Aid like choking, burns, fractures, asthma and severe bleeding.
With no loading screens, advertisements or complicated menus, the app ensures that life saving instructions are available faster than any other application available.
The ‘First Aid’ app can be downloaded for $3.99 from Apple’s App Store – a small price to pay for saving a life. This new application joins St John Ambulance Australia’s portfolio of two other apps; the MediProfiles application, which stores information about friends and family including allergies and next of kin (Free) and the Resuscitate app that contains a proximity sensor that locates your nearest St John Ambulance Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) ($2.45).
For more information and to download these apps, head to St John Ambulance Australia.
Look out for a full debrief of the process involved in creating this app in an upcoming issue of Desktop.
