Heard of Craig Oldman's Hand Written Letter project? We asked five Aus design studios to write to Craig: http://t.co/2i4Q614l

Todd Sampson is really inspiring. His work is extremely influential, not only in Australia, but worldwide.
I’m quite impressed with the paper companies at the moment. Especially Doulton, for their awareness, support and promotion of paper manufacturers who are producing environmentally sustainable stock. A little off track of what you were asking, I know!
I’m quite keen on the work Creative Unions ( http://www.creativeunions.org ) does in trying to highlight designers who work away from the traditional agencies. In their case designers who work for unions.
I would say Ken Taylor, just cos he’s an amazing illustrator.
Jacob Cass of justcreativedesign.com
He is so young and has achieved so much. His logo designs are so simple but unique, and always give me that “why didn’t I think of that” reaction.
Designer artist, artist designer, same difference. Ghostpatrol is definitely an inspiration to me, and has most definitely change street art, what it can be and where it can lead an artist. From the street to a professional respected career.
Definitely Vince Frost… His (and the Frost studio) work is so inspirational, up to date and known worldwide.
Nathan Jurevicius – illustrator, toy designer and storyteller (most known for his Scary Girl comic and figures).
Garry Emery…
Nathan Jurevicius too, Melbourne Based Illustrator, who also did work for US Band Less Than Jake. From his Scary Girl Series, I loved his flying cat…
I work at a college that specialises in digital media so I’m inspired by the students that pass through my workplace every day. It’s encouraging to see how these students positively interpret the importance that design has on society. The future of design is very bright!
The creators of Red Bubble (www.redbubble.com) for providing an outlet and community for non mainstream designers and illustrators.
Ken Cato, agideas would not exist if it wasn’t for him
I think Jacob Cass is emerging talented designer from Australia and I believe he’s gonna make the country proud.
I’m a HUGE fan of Florence Broadhurst’s fabrics and wallpaper range – especially her ‘Black & White Collection’. If only I have the moolah to deck out my whole apartment in her products!
Chris Northey digital designs. I love his work and love supporting indie designers!

Timba Smits, he was just a kid who enjoyed drawing and he is now on the way to having an empire, with a magazine, so much illustrative work and an art gallery but the best part of it is, he is an avid humble pie eater. He does not fancy himself in the least. He is definitely one to watch.
The most influential designer in my life right now is Lyndon Whaite. Currently he is my lecturer and as hard as I deny it he is really having an impact on the way I see things.
Gino Ciancio with a business called designline. He helps me with all my designs and sets me in the right direction. He corrects my mistakes and refines them to industry standard. Top bloke
For his age, Jacob Cass (Just Creative Design) has made his peers look like like an 80s Motorola with the way he’s grabbed new media / technology and made it work for him. His work may not shake the design world per se, but his grip on social tech and design, and making waves, is certainly working.
I’m not a huge follower of top designers in Australia, but I think the ones the are making the most change in the industry are the little people, all the graduate design students, all the experimental video students, Australian podcasters and iPhone, iPod and iPad designers… The’re the ones making the biggest shift at the moment… I’m proud to be an Australian and a part of this big wide design world
Vince Frost is brilliant! One of the greatest creative minds in this country.
My answer would definitely have to be Ken Cato! Not only is he the creator of the biggest design company in the southern hemisphere, he is the founder of the AGIdeas international design conference (which I have attended 2years now) which continues to inspire young Australians and those in the design/creative industries!
